More Vacation

Cannot believe how cute this girl is.

I'm not sure where this post disappeared to...anyways, we continued our vacation further down California by heading to San Francisco. I had forgotten how chilly it gets there. We went to Fishermans Wharf and then headed out to Alcatraz. The tour was pretty fun and you could pretty much explore the island on your own. We were pretty beat from walking all day so we didn't explore as much as I would like to, but that just gives us an excuse to go back. We played on the beach but didn't really get in the water. It's funny because I remember swimming there around the same time of year when I was a kid, but I definitely wasn't going to swim there now. San Fran was quite the city, I enjoyed visiting but I would not like to live there- too much congestion and parking was a pain. I can't imagine being stuck in traffic for hours at a time on a regular basis.

Chops got some Alcatraz memorabilia and is going to use it for his classroom. Hopefully his students don't mind being referred to as inmates :)

The best place in the world...not Disneyland!

Maggie didn't mind the water as long as she was on the board
Playing on the beach

Addie was looking everywhere but the camera...

Cousin Zoey
Uncle Devin, Grandpa and Addie. And Rocky, who likes the water

Addie and Luca are three days apart but Luca is much taller and more slender :)

Every summer we head over to California for my family reunion. It has been a tradition my entire life. I think that I have missed, maybe, three summers in 25. I have so many great memories here. Picking blackberries, swimming, floating down the river, reading pretty much the entire Harry Potter series while eating a case of otter pops, hanging out with cousins, sleeping on the tramp and watching meteor showers, sleeping at the cabin and listening to the rush of the river, riding to the falls in the back of Uncle Dave's truck, riding to the falls with my mom driving and almost driving off the edge of a cliff, etc etc. It is such a great place and I am glad that I am now able to share it with Addie. Highlights from this trip include playing with Luca, eating lots of blueberries, playing in the water and eating sand. And hanging out with cousins. Can't wait to go back!

Catching up

Wow summer is flying by at an incredible pace. Chops has one more week of freedom before he gets to go back to school. Its crazy to think that around this time last year I was waddling around pregnant. Actually, I didn't really waddle but I was pretty big. Here are a few pictures of what we've been doing this summer.
